Designing for Play
Hackney Play Association supports a new approach to designing play spaces, based on the ideas set out by the Free Play Network. Play environments should be beautiful, individually designed, should please and stimulate the senses, and be sources of delight and surprise.
Too many play spaces are designed not with children in mind but with the objectives of minimising maintainance and accident claims. We seek to change this and work with partners to support design and development of new play spaces in Hackney, including:
